  • Stude stock car

In the August 1965 issue of CARS magazine on page 25 there is a picture of a Hawk NASCAR race car.It is a head on shot but I can read 304 Cu. In.on the hood and the number might be 33.The race was held at Raceway Park in Indianapolis Indiana. The text for the pic says "only Studebaker in the race managed to stay out of everyones way"
    Ouch.
My scanner is kaput...anyone else have this mag and can scan it?

    Bob,

I am taking a day off from work tomorrow and going to pick up a load of literature. A long time car collector that I know has reached the age where he is unable to do another restoration and has sold all of his tools. He called me last week to get a few miscellaneous Stude parts as well as his collection of magazines that he says date back to the '50's.

He said they are a "pickup load", but sinse the AC has died in my F-350 and it will be close to 100 degrees tomorrow, I will try to stuff all of it into my Explorer. I have no idea of what he has (other than a full set of TW), but if this is in his collection I will let you know.
