I'm pretty sure it's kept in The Old Oaken Bucket that has just about taken up permanent residence in Lfayette.

Right, Lark. Besides, there's not enough room to display it, what with needing space to display the trophy from Winning the Rose Bowl in 1967.

I've looked for a winning Rose Bowl trophy in Bloomington (I know they went there once to represent The Big Ten; correct?), but can't seem to locate it. BP

Jim may not get to see the Old Oaken Bucket as Purdue gives head of the line privelege to graduates who became astronauts or NFL quarterbacks.
That makes the wait prreeety long. Maybe he could spend some time looking at the John Wooden photos or Neil Armstrong statue.

As you may know, Lark; Purdue Ag Alumni Bigwig Maurice Williamson is a fixture at The Indiana State Fair. He spearheaded the Pioneer Farm Village and is largely responsible for its overwhelming success.

"Maury" is a "bleeds Old Gold and Black" Boilermaker and thus has little use for "Bloomington College," a/k/a Indiana University.

For many years (I think it is gone, now), he had this sign hanging in the primary Pioneer Farm Building, reflecting what was happening on the two campuses in th 1960s:

          Hey diddle-diddle
          while i.u. fiddled
          Purdue put
          a man on the moon

          I always liked that. BP

Purdue DID win a national championship BEFORE the NCAA was the big cat of men's basketball tournaments. By the way they also won a Women's NCAA B-Ball National championship.
