    I dunno...I just sold mine...

Even with the (ahem) McKinnon V8 in it, it had two speeds....slow and slower. With the original 6 and the small 17" wheels the two speeds are probably slower and slowest .

    Nice truck, though...and close by.

With that little Champion engine and geared to pull stumps it is not conducive to being a car hauler (except pedal cars on back roads).

I think you both missed the key phrase in David's OP:

            "Just a few modifications..."

I think what is being said Dick, just like the email I sent you, is that we want you to start another project so we can see pictures of the progress! [}]

I do have my eye on an absolutely rust free '62 Hawk. Still has original paint and interior. The bad news is that it's green with a green interior [xx(]. The good news is that it needs to be repainted and would look just right red with a red interior [8D]. It's a low option car (Flightomatic, radio), but has all the style of the Jet Thrust cars. We'll see.

I am picking up 2 '37 Plymouth pickups this month in California. My young painter friend will build a hot rod out of one of them. Something like this...

                        or this...

I'm going to try hard to sell the other one before I do something like this with it...

I've been having too good of a time goofing off this summer. It's "the law" here that with all the lakes and Puget Sound/Georgia Strait that you own a boat . Mine has been on the water a couple of times a week. It's got the McKinnon motor (required Stude content)

We can have it in Lake Whatcom in 15 minutes (15 mile long lake)...

Notice my son-in-law checking the sky every now and then. If you don't on these big lakes in Washington, you'll be staring a float plane on short final in the propeller. [:0]

We can have it Puget Sound in 10 minutes. Here we are about 20 miles out into the San Juan Islands on a pretty glassy day...
