Take a basically stock 289, stock rods, stock dished pistons, stock crank, Stude flat tapped cam.
Add some R3 ported heads, and an LS aluminum intake on it.
Put it in front of an old Chevy Powerglide 2 speed trans.
Add a single turbocharger, and use it all to twist a Dana 60 diff.
Top it off with a 4bbl carb, and run it all on E-85 gas.
Now, it was an off night. The track was slick.
The burnout too short. The car drifted a bit to the right off the line.
But that tire squeal you hear at launch was real. Real Studebaker torque, and that squeal lasted at least 600' and well into 2nd gear.
Then... It started to rain (the beginning of the tropical system from the hurricane)...
So, Only one pass and we loaded up and Tom went home.
But what a cool pass!
Way to go Tom!
