Watching Dennis Quaid's new show tonight, I saw a finned Hawk, K-body, hardtop and right rear quarter and fin visible in the foreground as it travelled across the screen. The show's set about '82 - '63, so there might be more!

There was a show broadcast about 20 years ago called Crime Story, set in the same time period. First season was set in Chicago, and the second in Las Vegas to follow the Mob there. There were quite a few Studes in it. One of the crooks drove a finned Hawk. It's available on CD. Decent show with too many shootouts, but great for car-watching.Skip Lackie

It's a good show. I like it.The only difference between death and taxes is that death does not grow worse every time Congress convenes. - Will Rogers

But if you see any film or TV show set in the past, there are too many high end or sporty cars...and cars in too nice of shape to be daily drivers in the period. (If you watch TV, even poor people drove Model A roadsters with quail radiator caps)
Makes sense because those are the cars that have survived to be used in TV/films.63 Avanti R1 2788

The Corvair convertible was at least a '62 and I saw a '62 or '64 Pontiac in the pilot show. They also had Bally electro-mechanical slot machines which didn't show up until 1963.Rick

The show is supposed to take place in 1960. I have noticed that most of the cars are 1961-1963. I like seeing the cars in the show anyway.Gary L.

They're not too careful about the cars they use for sure. Also did you notice the white spoke wheels and mud and snow tires on the Dodge truck? I'm pretty sure they are way out of time on those.
Too bad they're not better about the cars. It really detracts from what looks to be a promising show.
Didn't I see a 70's Chrysler in one scene?Jon Stalnaker

I too have watched and liked the show so far, but they are very careful about making sure you know that the year is 1960, yet they continue to use cars too new. Police Cars are 63 Fords, Taxis 63-64 Plymouths. I too saw the zip van i think, and the Chrysler that was in the one scene was a 1967 Imperial. A couple of 66-67 Satellites too in some scenes. The Sherriff drives a 66 Dodge 3/4 ton pickup. I know it shouldn't bug me, but 50's era cars are plentiful, it wouldn't hurt to make sure those details are taken care of.Evan Davis
