No Bob, my wife can't drive it, and IF I ever do buy another Stude, I want a 64 GT Hawk. I've owned so many Studes I lost count, but I've never owned a Hawk. Restored a few, but never owned one.

I agree with "keeping it here", but we all know where the money is :-)

Brian, my old 66 Daytona brought $10,400.00 and the auction co. estimated it at 10-12k, I said 8-10k so, maybe I need to change careers??? :-) The 318 mile Commander brought $13,200.00 and the auction co. estimated it at 20-30k. All of Ben's cars combined brought well over 250k, I think his family should be pleased with the results.

Jim, thanks for posting. Do those numbers include the auction fees, or do you know? That green '66 is probably as low-mileage of one as is out there. I was never a big fan of Algonquin Green, but the six and stick wouldn't bother me a bit! I wonder if the same buyer got both cars.

Bill, those were the "final sale prices" so, until you figure in the fees????
It sure was a neat car to own and drive, I do miss it.

Will do Bob, I haven't talked to my friend Dave Kinney yet who was at the auction, not sure if he knows who bought it.
The auction co. probably won't disclose who the buyer was, so maybe he/she will surface here.

Auction fees (to the seller) vary depending on a number of factors including the day and even time of day it is run through and whether or not there is a reserve. You can be sure however that the auction company got at least 15% for the Studebakers. That is a rather standard fee today. Interestingly I just averaged up my Ebay/PayPal sellers fees over the past month or so and it comes to about 12.5% (9% Ebay and 3.5% for PayPal).

Thanks Richard, and don't forget the fee to register to bid, and the buyer premium. As for ebay, I did the same with my recent sales, and you are right on the money.
