  • Email on the Forum question

3.When you email someone using the icon on the posters reply, the forum opens a window into which you type your message. Then you send it.

    Here are my questions[?]

    1. Is this message send to the users email address[?]
    2. Does PM stand for private message[?]
    3. If someone asks you to send a PM (private message) do they expect that message to come in their email box at their email address[?]
    4. Are email messages used internally on the forum, similar to what Ebay does for example[?]

These seem like rather odd questions to ask, but it is as simple as clicking on "send email" and it does! To their registered email with the title saying: Sent From Studebaker Drivers Club by XXXXXXX (Your Handle) from Studebaker Drivers Club Forum.

I doubt that our own Club is running Spyware on us!

My questions started when a forum member asked me to PM them and I didn't know what that meant. I went out and Googled the term and found that it supposely stand for private mail. Being I had never attempted to contact a forum member before, I clicked on the email icon and the message window opened. I typed my message and clicked on send. Then wondered what happened to the message.

I was not worried about anything, least of all spyware, I simply didn't know how that email icon message window worked. Thanks for your explaination.

        Regards,
        Jerry
