  • Barn Finds in Portugal

Here is a link to a barn full of cars in Portugal. I spotted two 53-54 Studebakers (one blue, one red). Unfortunately, only a portion is shown of them. Whoever wrote the tags didn't know much about American cars as he either didn't know what they were, or misidentified them.
The car he states is an American 1920s is a 31 Chrysler.

    Here is the link:

It's a great story but it's not entirely true In fact, there's a Snopes urban legend entry on it:

Photographs showing an "eclectic collection of old cars in a decaying building" inspired a hopeful backstory.

        ...with the real story, too.

We ought to be able to Google Eath that barn as large as it is! I think I see a early Lark next to "Yep, another one". My barn wasn't locked when I bought it and just had a couple of junk VW's in it. WHY NOT ME? [V]

WOW! that is a really good, large storage building and some quite rare and neat cars! I have seen those somewhere on line before, but never knew the story! That's great!

American BARGES, indeed![xx(] That's a "C" cab tow truck (maybe a Transtar) right next to a light blue '53 or '54 Starliner H/T!

There is also a "Studebaker era" Mercedes Benz 300D 4 door Hardtop factory Limousine.

This writer is not pregidous against U.S. cars is he?

I went to the alt.autos.studebaker site for the first time last week and someone posted about this story; somebody really BLEW THEIR STACK about it, saying to the effect of: THIS IS A HOAX, IT'S BEEN DISCUSSED ALREADY TOO MANY TIMES, SO KNOCK IT THE F*** OFF!!!

Hopefully that overreactor doesn't come here and attack anyone over this[}] Turned me off from getting involved in that board[xx(]

Personally, I don't care what the story is; I enjoyed the pictures!

Basically, the property is owned by a car dealer who hired a photographer to take photos of his collection.
