  • Former SDC President on TV

Former SDC President Max Corkins is tentatively scheduled to be featured on the popular History Channel series American Pickers the night of August 27, 2012. For anyone not familiar with Max Corkins Restorations in Lewistown, PA this will be a good way to see his shop. Max gave Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz a tour of his entire facility with a number of vehicles currently being worked on.; as well as all the stuff he has collected over the years.

I'll be sure to watch, thanks for the heads up. Max Corkins also had a big part in the '47 Woody project.

        Thanks for the info, Peter.

I have been in his shop many years ago. It was so long ago...that now, it only seems like a distant dream. I am eager to see it again. I already have a reminder, to watch the show, set on my computer calendar.

Max is the organizer of the Reedsville Swap Meet for the Manhattan Chapter. He always has an open house at his shop during the meet; entertainment includes his own oldies, R&B band. Be there or be square.

And, you are correct, Chris. Max is the one who pulled the incredibly dessicated woodie from the proving grounds graveyard and secured it at his shop until sufficient interest was garnered for its resurrection.

If you have never been in Max's Shop this will be a treat so make sure you watch. This may just wet your curiosity and if it does come to Reedsville for Max's renown Friday night gathering in his shop and have a look for yourself.

This episode is not scheduled for August 27th on the Canadian History Channel. Can anyone provide further info for Canadian viewers?

Frank always wants to give you less because he's buying more. Sorry Frank but give me the full fair price!

I wonder if they were "picking" inside or outside? Curious if Frank will overpay for another car because he didn't do his research?

Max and Pete Wilson were both recognized for their efforts in saving the Woody, Jim. Pete was with Max when they brought the car back to Lewistown PA. Have doubts about the recognition ask the IMC Chair I think he can tell you the correct "skinny" on who was recognized for their efforts

I see several different times for that show/series this evening. What time is the one with Max (east coast time)?
