  • New England Concours

This weekend Hemmings invited about 130 cars from the North East to participate in their first New England Concours at Stratton Mountain Vermont. This was a group of quite spectacular cars and just being invited was a bit of an honor. Congratulations to Gary Sassi who took Second Place in the Closed American Cars from 46 to 55 with his Speedster and First Place in the 56 to 65 Closed American Cars with his 57 Golden Hawk. Additionally, Robert Dalton showed his beautifully preserved 32 Studebaker President. Studebakers were well represented at this great show.
    Great Job Gary

Nice pictures, but more interesting to me is that Fiat in your other Webshots album. Can you tell me more about it?

I'm a Metropolitan kook. When Bill Flajole did the industrial design for the Met he used a Fiat Topolino to do the mockups. I've always wanted one and after finding the one shown in the pictures on ebay in New Zealand, I figured out how to ship it here and bought it. Although I made it mechanically sound, I left the body the survivor that it is and it has turned out to be a big hit at the cruise ins and shows with its great patina. It is a 51 Fiat 500C, 497cc, 16 HP, top speed 59 mph so it does 0 to 60 in never, at least not with me driving.
