  • Need a Radiator

Hello All, does anyone have or know where I can get a good used or NOS radiator for
my 60 Hawk 289? (without selling vital organs)

Whenever I need a radiator, my local shop takes my old one, orders a new core, and builds it up for me. There must be some old time radiator shops in the Chicago area. The only trick is to get them to understand that old OLD cars seem to need bigger tubes and more fins per inch than a new Toyota, for instance.

Do you not have the old radiator from your car? Is it missing completely?

Hey Roy, I still have the old one it's full of holes.
the prices for re-coring are pretty steep.
I keep hearing that the bucket on top is the big issue...

Sometimes, even CASOs have to bite the bullet.

You could try the swap meet at the International meet in South Bend at the end of the month !!!

A recore is really not that much money when you consider the confidence it can add to your driving pleasure. Same with replacing all brake lines, hoses, etc.
Buy a used radiator and maybe need to recore it anyway.
