Have C534457 Daytona in my shed.Exwife took it in divorce settlement then wrecked front end back in 74.She saidI could have the car,so hauled it to my place but wouldnt give me the title.Asked her about last in 81, she said "Drop Dead".Been buyin pieces for it over the years.hood ,front fenders, grill, bumper,it needs backwindow, hope it is same as 4door,I havea parts 66 cruiser to helpwith mechanical stuff. She also drove my nice 62 GT Hawk into a tree back in 69 and totaled it.Boy am glad she is gone and out of my life.

Neil , I sure would like to get some info on your car so we could put it in our Registry !
By the way your serial # would make yours the latest Daytona we have recorded , it would of been made after Feb 14/66.

Only another 200 V8 cars built before shutdown. Not sure where the 6 cylinder cars fit in yet.

2R5,My Daytona the plum color, white vinal top,off white interior, full dash, push button am radio,no air, auto trans ps,pdb.I bought it at Housnick Ford in Bloomsburg Pa back in 71 for$895with37,000 miles on it.Traded my 64 cruiser with 67,000 miles, allowed me $450 trade in.I would see the Daytona in the driveway of a house outside of town on my comute to work from Berwick to Bloomsburg,so I knew of the car before it was traded.

Neil, Congradulations on your Daytona. As far as the ex-wife not co-operating on giving you the title may I suggest a simple solution? Lein Sale the car. Being it has been in your possession for so long & no doubt your wife does not reside at the address that the car was last listed at, the state will send a notification to that address & it wont be responded. The only other thing required will be posting a notice of the lein sale, which can be posted anywhere (& I mean ANYWHERE!! lol). Put a low value on it & the cost is minimal. Let us know how you made out.

Nice to see a Daytona in that color combination still survives!! I recall reading about a similar Daytona in Fred K. Fox's 'Literature in Review' column in the early 1980's that was first sold at Fred Bartz Motors in Manitowoc, WI. Here is the scan from June, 1983 TW:

It sounds like your car has always been in PA since new.

Neil , by what info I have I'd put your car right around the Mar1/66 date for being built.
You should get ahold of the museum and buy your built sheet for all this info.

Had no idea where my car fit into the final production thing. I always knew it was worthy of saving and being put back together, only now more so. I will contact the museum and get the build sheet for it . I plan on retiring this time next year so I wont have the excuse of saying Ihave no time to devote tomy Stude projects.

                                Deep Maroon huh!
