Not far away from Timaru, about 60 km /37 miles north on the eastern Rangitata highway to Christchurch in the village of Hinds, there was a nice darkish grey/green? (it was dark and raining) 55 Champion 4 door sedan for sale two years ago, in the forecourt of a small garage that restored/sold antique and collector cars. I stopped in the rain, and took quite a few pictures of it--thought it was just a tad overpriced but what do I know about the local NZ market. It was of course completely rust free, and even had some factory paint left on the underside. I looked up Hinds on Google Earth again, and that old ?Morris? is still there in the picture along with a Mustang, but no Stude. I wonder if it stayed in the area, and if so, why it wasn't at the Nationals? Perhaps some of the NZ people know what happened to that car.

Nice Studebakers to be sure, but that pearl blue bulletnose looks terrific! WOW!

Very nice bunch of Studes. I saw several I would like to have, but the club sedan caught my eye.
I wonder if the brown M series is still on a stock chassis? The wheels are the reason I wondered.

I'd drive Pete to NZ, but I'm afraid of what would be left after I rinsed him off!

BTW - whatever became of the chaps from NZ that used to chime in here on occassion?

If anyone happens to know who owns that beautiful tri-tone President Speedster, please tell Him/Her about the 'Counting '55 President Speedsters' Thread on this Forum.
