Maybe this is why ,at most car shows around here,they put all the Corvettes in one area! Iv'e owned 4 'Vettes,but never had anybody slobber over them like they do my Hawk!

I agree- sometimes people can make insulting comments. But it doesn't matter what a person thinks about another person's possession; and that's not what it's about. It's about an insecurity inside the individual that they're trying to medicate by insulting another person- or their possession. You get to see it here from a sad few, taking jabs at folks who have not done one thing to harm them. We see them pop up like a pimple from time to time

Insults are childish, and say nothing about the target, and everything about the author. In the end, it's their sad legacy.

Hey, some people are just narrow minded. I just feel bad for them. If they would only let themselves know about Studebakers or other makes, they'd be much more interesting to know. What can you do?

It has been several years since I had those made up. With minimum orders, and inflation...I have no idea what it would cost to commission another run. Except for a few I culled out for my personal use...I am sold out for now. The last time I had some produced, I sold them for $15 each and I barely broke even.

Hell, I might have to have a sticker made.

Unhappily, too true in many cases as well for a great many CCCA members. I like to remind them to check out a '28-'33 President as they'll find they're in the same league with their contemporary Classics. A broader marque viewpoint opens a beneficial appreciation of a banquet of noteworthy cars.

Of the single marque 'elitist, to paraphase Auntie Mame "Automotive history is a banquet and those poor blighters are starving to death!"

I drive a Corvette every day and I'm crazy about the car but I would rather look at my Really ugly Packardbaker wagon. As a matter of fact almost all cars built in 58 are pretty ugly and love em all!!

Yeah, if he didn't make the comment jokingly, it was pretty rude. I would have just said "I don't really care for those", because I don't -- no big deal. On the other hand, I doubt I would ever buy an early Corvette or Tri-5 car, just because they are so common...

i tend to walk right past the vette's, tri-5's, stangs, and camaro's at shows. Too boring for my liking.
