  • Happy and safe 4th for all

I hope all here have a good and safe 4th. A good time with family and friends.
We are in for a hot few days ahead here. Has been very dry. I know those of you in the South West would think it down right cool.
Also the best to those that are not Yankees. Thanks for putting up with us[)]

        I have to work!

I am a building contractor and we specialize on the restoration and renovation of older homes. We are doing a little 1930s Arts & Crafts bungalow. It is sort of like restoring a Studebaker. All the new work has to match the old design even to the overhang with the contoured exposed rafters.

We need to get this roof completed before it rains (again!). It is the most complicated roof we have ever built.

It is turning out just like my Studebaker restorations...way more time and money than I had planned for.

            Interesting addition...
You'll love the extra space ('till you fill it up)
I always wonder what the next owner thinks when they find renovations when they do their own renovations..

Like finding shingles under the sheathing for the new roof.
I've found that before while inspecting houses to buy...
I know it makes sense, but it just looks strange.

This is not my house, just one we are doing for a customer who happens to be in our local AACA club and owns a 57 T-Bird.

We have found lots of things when we are renovating houses, mainly beer bottles and cigarette wrappers, but I did find an old match book from an old Ford dealer that used to be in Richmond.

                HAPPY 4TH EVERYONE!
