It is the 1956 Packard Predictor that is in the Studebaker museum.

That is not an "auto show" per se. It is the Studebaker National Museum. I believe that is Bob Bourke's 1954 Starliner next to the Predictor.Gary L.

No, they were leading the way, predated Edsel by a year or so.Comment

Two years, the Predictor made the circuit in 1956 & has a few innovations notibly the reverse slope rear window later found in the 60's called the "Breezeway Window" on Mercury's. The roof over the front seats rolled inwards as a unique sunroof & of course, the opera windows in the C pillar. It was with the usual excess found in dream cars of that era but Packard had a way with innovation. I have a book called "OK FOR DRIVE-A-WAY" that outlines how a Packard was built. In it there is a portion talking about developing & road testing new ideas. One of them was what they called "radar brakes" which now we see in premium cars. (brakes that activate by themselves when the driver doesnt to avoid hitting an object in front)59 Lark wagon, now V-8, H.D. auto!

I have had the dubious honor of being one of the few people alive who has ridden in this car (Predictor) when propelled under its own power. It was not comfortable.Richard Quinn

Dick, you have a way of coming up with incredible photos for us to enjoy. Many thanks. Looking at that photo just whets my appetite to get back to South Bend for the International Meet. Looking forward to visiting my favorite museum again and eating in one of my favorite restaurants, Tippecanoe Place.
