Got a call from an AMC associate yesterday. Seems he and his son were in the Pick-a-Part yard on Blinn St. in Wilmington. California the other day (Los Angeles area). There, they found what looks to be (to his eyes) a 1938 President 4-door. He described as solid and showing no more than surface rust. All brightwork is missing as was the body tag. He didn't know where to find the serial# plate. "With suicide doors" was how he characterized it. Adding that while there was no ID visible, the name "President" was detectable where the paint handn't oxidized beneath the name script.
Everything sheet metal is there save for the deck lid. All four drums were still intact. Instrument cluster there, but with glass broken out. I THINK he said the seats were there, but as of this AM I can't recall for sure. Steering wheel gone, but column still there.
