Another "cheap" Avanti!

Picked up my Craigslist Avanti yesterday. 1963 R1/auto, good floors and hog-troughs, engine/transmission out of car, as is most everything else. Crankshaft looks great, block has no wear/ridge at all. Car had 108,000 miles when the previous owner started restoring it. Car has a lot of extra parts like an extra Prestolite dual point and a Delco window distributor. Also came with a bunch of model cars, literature,etc. Not a bad deal for $1500!

Was that the Avanti that was for sale on Ebay several times from Maryland? If so, I wish I had known you were so close (maybe ten miles from me). Regardless, it looks you've done OK.

I found the receipt for the wheel covers, bought from Standard Surplus in 1980 for $89.04!

The serial number is 63R-1416, body number 63RQ-549, engine number 63R-1238. Car was built 10/8/62. Color was Avanti gold, had tinted side windows, power steering, electric windows, twin traction, radio and ant. Car was sold November 1, 1962 at Lewis Motors in Shaker Heights,Ohio.
