You asked for it guy with 2 first names

I read over your post a few times just trying to come up with a dead on understanding of what you were asking, or perhaps inferring. I don't think you even know. Read carefully please. A high quality show quality and>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> factory correct<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< dielictric seamed interior does exist for a GT Hawk or probably any Stude with dielectric {channels, pleats, seams} and can be had from Rene'Harger for one , and others if they have the dielectric thingy or access to the correct insert material. A show quality but non dielectric seams can be had in leather, vinyl, cloth, burlap, elephant skin or whatever from Rene, Jim Lawrence, and lot'sa good upholstery guys. No it ain't brain surgery, but the guy doing the sewing must be both competent and have a give a chit attitude. Some Stude interiors were less complex than others. If you have an easy to sew, less time consuming chore of an interior needing done one of the lesser cost suppliers may fit your needs and be up to your snuff. If folks would post only when they have a legitimate question or a legitimate answer instead of lurking and firing a pot shot cause they feel like it just to let someone know that they are still lurking would be expecting too much from the butt head type.

Try automotiveinteriors.com - I have purchased 2 interior packages (seat covers, carpet and headliner) from them for a 51 Champion and my 56 Power Hawk. I would compare the interior to the interior that John sold.

Jim, was your GT interior (seats and door panels) really only $1200? At that price I'll have leather put in the Broadmoor! That looks great.

I have posted this before but nobody seemed to notice. Rene Harger (and I am sure some others) also sell the same stuff that JDP was selling. He wasn't their only dealer.

          Shucks no.

Heck no Matt, I don't know how that 1200 has any relevance. That figure came from joesamojo man. Tell ya what. I paid a fellow down here in Alabama, 300.00 to put on Jims seat kit. cheers jimmijim

Any covers you get, still have to be installed. Is your foam and springs in good shape?
Covers aren't the cure all for poor seats.....the whole seat assembly has to be addressed . All of this adds to the cost.
By going local, you put funds into the local economy, and the seats are there for proper fitting.

I don't know why I bother since I quit, but Autocraft made 100's of sets of covers for me with only a few complaints about the quality. For $300-$500 for a seat cover set like in this Hawk I filled a need at the time. (yes, my heat sealed pleats were a 1/4 inch too wide) The odd thing is many of the other suppliers mentioned use Autocraft, but at way over my old prices.

So let me get this straight. Non Perfect Studebakers need not apply.
I listened and the opinion is that if it isn't perfect don't do it.
All I did was a search for FBN Upholstery on Google.
And was looking for about a $500 kit.

I was just thinking of brightening my wifes day with better threads, then are in the car now. But Bluebird is a
driver, she has never been on a trailer. And we take her to wonderful places.
Omaha NE, Branson several times,Springfield, Kansas City KS, lawrence KS,Tulsa and Oklahoma City OK,
Pueblo CO, all national and Zone meets. With other Studebakers that don't
                  shine as much as others.

I don't think that's the case! If it was, Barney would definitely not make the grade

I've known a few people that bought John's seatcovers and they were all very happy.

I just wish I'd jumped on the 55 Speedster-like upholstery.

I bought a nice set of seat covers for less than 80.00 at Big Lots a while back. Black and white. After I had them installed people started shouting "Hey Zebra" at me. I don't know why? Is that like nice car or something flattering? cheers. jimmijim
