Frame went to get sand blasted, when it returned we went ahead and sealed it with DP90, and top coated it with Acrylic Enamel. Once painted, we began resembling the front suspension and brakes. In the coming weeks we will assemble the rear suspension, install the brake and fuel lines, and the motor and transmission.

Nice work!
Someone must REALLY like a 65 Commander to be going through one that completely.
What is the story on it?Last edited by Dick Steinkamp; 01-25-2012, 01:21 PM.Dick Steinkamp

Very nice work. The 4th. Pic in the first group, and the last pic in the second group of some Disc. Brake Rear Suspension? must be a Brand X Pic that got mixed up twice with your Stude. Pics!StudeRich

When you install the engine make sure the bolt from the mount bracket to the mount itself goes pointed to the back on the left side & pointed forward on the right (passenger) side. This will allow you to remove the bolts easily in case you have to in the future otherwise on the right side you would have to remove the fuel pump in order to remove the bolt. Good looking job & nice detail on the frame.59 Lark wagon, now V-8, H.D. auto!

I am guessing there is a story behind this car. To have what appears to be a pro shop doing what is bound to be an expensive body off restoration to this car just seems unusual to me.
Could be the owner just likes these cars and wanted one like new, but maybe there is a more interesting story there. Father's car? Owned since new? Surprise present for someone? I'm just curious I guess.Dick Steinkamp
