  • New stance - new truck

OK, here's the comparison pictures before and after. Picture one was from the April 2008 Turning Wheels inside front cover shoot.

Picture two was taken this morning. After the conversion to modern running gear and suspension.

A whole new look and a whole new truck. It now runs strong, stops quickly, handles better, holds more gas, and is warm in the winter and cold in the summer. I likeee......

Looks good Jon! How bad do the front tires scrape when turning?

That is hideous! You ruined it! I think you should just give it to me so I can "FIX" it.....my fix would be miles on the clock

Honestly...I like either the before or after. However, it is good that the after is yours and not mine. I am 67 years old. If the "after" were mine...it would erase about 50 years off my maturity...cause me all sorts of trouble for resorting back to my youth as I gunned that thing around town! As bad as a 17-year-old show-off is hated...a 67 year old geezer show-off with an unflinching grin would be worse!

I know I ruined it. I can't sell it now - I guess I'll just have to drive it around for the rest of my life.

It kinda looks more like the cartoon version now. I really struggled over this because I really liked the way it looked when it had the stock suspension. It was a small price to pay for a better ride and to be able to keep up with all my friends that have V-8s in their Studes.

I must admit to "getting on it" a little bit but I think I can control myself. Speeding tickets are too expensive and I don't have much left after what I spent on my Studebakers.

I want to add a couple more comments. I am very glad you didn't monkey with the overall original design of the truck. I'll never blame anyone for adding turn signals and thanks for not drilling big holes in the top of those nice round fenders and bolting on those school bus type turn signals.

With all the work you have done under that sheet metal...it is unmistakable...it's a STUDEBAKER!

That's something I also feel strongly about. Besides, how can you improve upon the original design?

My truck did not have turnsignal but it did have the school bus "running" lights....now they are turnsignals. They fit my truck concept, but Jons look perfect for his truck.

I really like both, Jon its a top notch job (as allways).

But I must say I prefer the first one.

                            Very nice!

I really like the hot rod engine and stance combined with the stock appearing body and colors. Great combo.

Hey Jon, I keep starring at those pics, not because I like them of course, and I see only thing that you need to fix or just give it away.....does not HAVE to be to me, could be my wife or daughter.
But it looks to me like your bumper is at LEAST 1/4" high on the driver side...could be the camera angles, but I can see the bottom of the fender edge on the passenger side and I can not on the driver side. Bring by the house, I can fix that. Won't charge more than a drive....lol
