  • dumb Pre-War question...

    So, earlier today I got to look over a '37 Stude sedan.
    After checking out this fine example of one of my favorite Stude emblems~



    I had the following questions...

    Was Stude building cars in Canada at this time?
    If so- did they say "Made In Canada" on them?

      Does anyone have a '37/'38 Grille ornament from a Canadian Car?

        I think that just means that the grille emblem was made in the USA, not necessarily the car. I also believe that someone highlighted the "Made in USA".

          Studebaker shut down the Walkerville, Ontario plant in 1936.

            Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Studebaker made their first car in the Hamilton, Ontario plant in 1947.

              If you'd go to the link in post #2, you'd see the first car coming off the line in '48. And it looks like it is already leaking fluids!

              EDIT: And according to my parts book, Champions only (at least 48-50, anyways).
