Thanks for wishing me the best everyone, I am very sore but I will be fine. The person that hit me was in 2004 Chevy Avalanche Z-71 and he pushed me into a Chrysler Pacifica.

So sorry for your loss and hope you heal real quick. Hope you dont have to fight the insurance company over your truck. BTDT If the doors are still ok, i could use a pair of doors.

Well, look at it this way, Brian: Not too many people can say they survived being hit by an Avalanche! <GGG> BP

What kind of insurance was he running on? Will it at least pay to replace the truck?

Glad you are OK. I wrecked my 49 in Springfield hope we don't start a trend. AS far as insurance there was a guy that got hit in a old chevy truck rat rod they paid him $750.

Your truck sacrificed itself to protect you: it can be replaced-----------you can't. And too you are walkin' and talkin'............that's huge.

All kidding aside though, Get well soon man. Very sorry about the truck, but half the fun of roddin is the build. Now you get to do another build, hopefully at the Avalanche owners insurance expense.
As long as you are ok and get healthy the rest will work out.

you'll never match the paint on that.. I was rear ended about 5 years ago, didn't think much of it till the last year or 2 of constant neck and back pain.I think I should have stayed in touch with the doctors, and State Farm. I don't know how old Brian is,but I found out that my near 60 yr old body can't handle dings and dents like it did when I was 20.

                            Brian,

Bummer! Best wishes for a quick healing to your wounds/1

When my Transtar - Pete - was totalled in '95, he was running SWEET. Was MY daily driver as well. Guy that hit me - his company had insurance on the work truck - but I had to argue for every dollar I managed to get over the $1200 they'd valued Pete at. Pete's "finish" was almost EXACTLY like yours is (was) - primer an' rust.

Pete's bed survived because we got slammed from the front, but everything else was junk. I had just acquired another engineless example "twin" to Pete, so with what I could scavenge from Pete, and the great sheet metal of the donor, I had my first test drive 2 years to the day from the wreck.

Also like you, tho sore, I came away with nothing broken. We can count ourselves lucky. That sturdy frame and the crumple of the generous sheet metal helped. Plenty 2Rs still out there!
No deceptive flags to prove I'm patriotic - no biblical BS to impress - just ME and Studebakers - as it should be.
