  • Looks to be a full package super hawk??

After getting this 63 GT Hawk home and spending the better part of the day trying to get the driver door open I finely did so I could read the vin. number the vin number is 63V33367 and engine number is JT1858, car has power shift, power steering, power disk brakes, TT, rear sway Bar , and radius rods, 160 speedo, but not red line tack, also looks to be pretty rust free but not take very good care of as of late, paint is bad, seats are still rather nice, floors not rust through but has scale but not real bad, plan on Por-15 to the floor to protect down the road. now my question can any one check the numbers and fill the blanks? I don't have the list that others do, thanks ...Bob

Yes, Bob 63V33367 was built as a full-package R1/Powershift Super Hawk.

That is the car's original engine number, too. BP

Hey Bob just checked the Jet Thrust Roster and you found one not currently listed. There is car #33378 listed and it is also a CA car.

I received the production order today and have some questions, as per BP he states it is a full package I guess that is what Item 46 High Perf. Pkg 1560835 means?? nothing on the build sheet about Air but the car has air but then any one could have put it on in the past 50 years. hope the picture shows up so you can read. also item #22 Reclin. seat split cush irs is that what is meant by bucket seats and a console? if it means something different then this is a strange one.

Yes, Bob; Item #46 is High Performance Package R1. You really don't need further verification of the car being a full-package Super Hawk.

I wouldn't worry about the seat notation; obviously, the car was supposed to get reclining front seats and somebody checked off the wrong box when searching for the recliner nomenclature.

As for the air conditioning; no, it wasn't built with it, but we all know how many cars had aftermarket or dealer-installed air added later during that time, especially in markets like California.

Everything looks in order from the Build Sheet, there. Congrats. BP

That would be nice, but you would have to bring your recliner with you.

It never ceases to amaze me at the amount of cars still showing up after all these years! Makes me wonder what is still out there!

                            A lot!!!

There are probably 10-15 Avantis alone within a 25 mile radius of South Bend that rarely see the light of day and probably many that haven't seen it since the 60's or 70's.

My Studebaker Engineer friend down the road is the first Owner of a '62 GT. He fell in love with this GT when it came through the Engineering Dept. and bought it as soon as it became available for sale. He has had it stored in his garage since the house was built in the early 70's and over the years everything imaginable has got piled up all around it. I have asked him on many occasions if there was anything "special" done to this GT while in the Engineering Dept. Always wearing a big grin, his answer has been; "Well, there might have been"

Yes, a lot still out there!!!

Pic. is good enough to make out those two California Lazyboys. One on the left looks like the Deluxe San Andreas
