  • Swamp cooler

I'm in Redding tomorrow PM, but I think I'll pass. It's a nice one, but they are going for $50-$100 on eBay. The window mounted ones are the desirable and high priced ones.

      Swamp cooler

Looks like a nice price for a period correct item.

Which reminds me JDP, do you know anything about
the unit, that was all taped up, in the trunk of the
64 Daytona? I will ask wayne, the next time I speak
        to him.

How well do these work? I'd love one![8D]

I was looking at an aircraft supply catalog and saw a portable A/C unit- basically a large cooler you fill with ice, and has a hood on top with a blower over some type of condenser... looks effective but not $450 worth...

Maybe I'll be able to get a swamp cooler at SB....

They work OK in the desert. Not so well where the humidity is high. Growing up, this was all there was in West Texas. We didn't know any better. They still make whole house units that are swamp coolers.

Glen, I often toss in extra parts in the trunk, but I don't recall if I did with your Daytona. What is it ?

JDP....It is a Monkey (Montgomery) Ward's "Riverside" after
market A/C unit...with all the rubber attached. Has some
USPS tape (looks like it has been on there forever)to hold
                        things together).
