I did a lot of driving and riding in a 1959 Continental convertible in the 1959-1960 time frame. It was the company car where I worked part time. A red Continental convertible was really something for a young guy to be traveling around in. I got to like that car a lot. I still like the '59-'60 Continental, but still do not like the face (grille/headlight treatment)of the '58.

I like the 1961-1963 Continentals, but think that they ruined them in 1964 when they stretched them and went back to flat side glass. Friends of ours had a 1963 Continental sedan in black with red leather that they bought new. That was a really nice car.

Heh - I've recently had some dealings with a '60 Lincoln Town car. I came away with a whole new appreciation for them too!
I spent $286 bucks on various pieces of that beast (in a Pick-a-Part wrecking yard) and by the time I'd sold everything on ebay (imagine this, 61 - junky old worthless parts from an unsightly, dead, hack of a car![V])my tally was just over $3K! The non-functional factory, retractable antenna finished up at $401 buckos! Most of what I sold off it went to countries in Europe!

        1957 Transtar 1/2ton
        1960 Larkvertible V8
        1958 Provincial wagon
        1953 Commander coupe

No deceptive flags to prove I'm patriotic - no biblical BS to impress - just ME and Studebakers - as it should be.

Biggs, here's one tip of MANY I could give you about Lincoln parts: Window switches from 64-65s are always red-hot sellers! Super-hard to find in usable condition[]

Got an e-mail from a guy in WI that heard I loved old Lincolns last Feb.; said he heard of a 65 Conv. in good shape other than it went under a low bridge atop a carrier aned cleaned off the windshield and top; was in an impound lot in VA. and headed to the crusher soon; I could have it for the $500 he was quoted...

I went and saw it on my way home from FL; bought it for $400 and went with the tow dolly to get it. When I was ready to go, the seller said, "Oh yeah- there's a box that was in the car in the garage over there; you want it?" I said, why not- and he produced a heavy 4 ft. by 2 ft. by 2 ft. box, sealed and marked, "Lincoln Stuff". Threw it in the car pulled the driveshaft, and headed home...

Couple days after I got home, I remembered the box, dragged it out, and opened it... it was full of lots of parts, all carefully wrapped, mostly the valuable stuff- highlighted by 12 NOS window switches!!![] These alone are worth probably $100 each........ box had a total value of maybe $2500!!

So I saved one from the crusher, got a great road trip (which I love!), and found one of those rare gold mines we all dream about![^]

That's why I'm always on the lookout for "finds".......[8D]

[V] I left the window switches behind![V] BUT!!!! They use the same window motor as Avantis and the Wagonaire tailgate window! I retrieved and ebay all five of those. JUST before the repro's ones came to be.
I've got the front seat switch conglomerate here on my desk. It's in REALLY nice shape and yet I've run it on ebay twice starting at about 15 bucks and not one sniff![|)]
