The driver of the Studebaker ran across the tracks to take the photo.

Hal always drove Studebakers up until they went out of business. Many of his photos in his books that he wrote always shows a Studebaker (his) somewhere in the photo. Kind of like Alfred Hitchcock. On the cover of his book on the Erie he had his 52 Commander Hardtop posed in the paring lot of the old Ramsey NJ station.

BG..........and yes they make scale bird poop

Nice display and a great looking Studebaker model. Should be on the front page of the Studebaker Toy Collector Club newsletter.

Methinks that nose bullet may need rechroming once the Birney has passed by... looks the driver parked a wee bit too close to the right-of-way! [)]

Once I get a scanner, I'll post some Studes with BIG trains. Sweet Pea and I used to make many trips into the hills/mountains/valleys chasing trains~ both here in SoCal, and up in Washington State. She's been off-road more then your average SUV ever will!!! All for that 'perfect' shot...
