  • Almost ready to install my new brakes. . .

I only need the banjo bolts, a torque wrench and that hex drive thingy for the caliper bolts and I can install the fronts. Threw a coat of paint on Mr. Turner's brackets just because I thought shiny black would look better.

About those seal/track adapter sleeves, anyone heat them in the oven? Seems like 550 degrees or so should work, save me hunting for a torch. Just want to know it's been done.

I used a propane torch with no problems. The sleeves went right on. I have heated carrier bearings to around 600 degrees to slide the on a carrier so I'm sure you could heat the sleeves the same way.

I put mine in the oven for 20 minutes--worked fine. 500 degrees should work.

Thanks! Thought I'd heard of it being done that way.
