My 1954 Studebaker champion parts car went to the crusher today, and took my back yard along. We are WET in western Washington, so the flatbed got stuck pulling the hulk out from under our trees, and you should see the ruts! I need to rent a tractor with a rototiller to put my yard back together. This was the first car my oldest son, now almost 32, drove by himself, solo before he got his license. It was on a dolly and being towed backwards. He sat in the car looking through the floorboards, and held the wheel while in route home. Not many usable parts left, but now we're down to one Studebaker, my grandmother's Commander sedan she bought new in 1954. Glad to get rid of the hulk, but it is still bittersweet-one less Studebaker in the world.

That IS too bad. I never even knew it was out there to be had!!!
And soo close, too!!! I've been to SnoHo more then a few times in the last two years.
    Since I own a '54 Commander- I'll bet there's more then a part or two I could'a used.

Did that truck have a wheel lift (under lift)? Those are for pushing yourself out when you get stuck, and for raising the bed to meet a highway trailer bed. They are also occasionally used to haul a second car on the back
