  • Jon Myer featured in Columbus Dispatch

Since my Dad is not on the Studebaker Forum, I'll do some bragging for him. He was featured today in an article in the Columbus Dispatch. It started out as a follow-up to the wind/tornado damage from April 20th and turned into an article about the business. You can find the article on line at:

    http://www.dispatch.com/live/content...r.html?sid=101

There's also a link at the end of the article to a 2 minute video with lots of pictures showing the damage and the shop.

    that's a nice article, Michelle.

I appreciated the hospitality your family showed so soon after the storm at the tech inspect. I'd stop by more often if I wasn't 300 miles away!

They did a really nice job at the Dispatch, Michelle. I can hear his voice speaking those quotes when I read that. His tip in South Bend last week concerning my neutral safety switch turned out to be correct, as usual. It's always fun to interview him in person. The stories and opinions are not too tough to draw out! Ask your mom.

Kudos on a nice story. Any Studebaker press is good press. Michael, Betty, Linda and you needed more lines, though. What the heck, were they exhausted after his interview?

Seriously, I hope his body heals up quickly from his multiple injuries he was sporting last week. No more cutting away at that wrist cast!

            Great article, Michelle!

I've never been able to make your Dad's tech meet. I have just got to do that, for sure.

                Michelle,
Great article and video, especially the video. I learned something new as we haven’t visited your mom and dad in a while. I see that they added on to the little garage behind the house. I remember him saying that he was going to purchase that stripe of land between the house and the power line. It looks like he had a large vehicle storage building put on that stripe and tied it into the little garage. Did he injure his left arm in the tornado? Looks like he has a red cast on. Hope all is well with you and them. Denise sends her love.

(In my video download, Jon had a bad case of digitalitis. Hope he gets over that soon. Those little square missing spots have to hurt!)

Thanks everyone! It was definitely great press for my dad and for Studebakers in general. I picked up a copy of the paper Monday and my kids were so excited to see Papaw in the newspaper with all the cars.

Mike - He broke his wrist about a month ago after falling over a box in the store, fortunately, no one was injured in the tornado. Tell Denise we all said hello and send hugs & love back to her!

Dave - I have lectured him at least twice about cutting away the cast, but as usual, "Dr. Jon" does what he wants. I think the cast comes off sometime this week.

I only met Jon once, at South Bend in 2009. I followed him around like a puppy until he sold me a parking light surround for a 55K. Unobtainium...but he had it! Well derserved article.
