  • Need some ideas...

Trying to figure out what year of Studebaker I could rob some 'Studebaker' or 'Champion' script from to help complete a little side project I'm working on for my car. Ideally, I need a miniature version of the script that is on the grill bars of a 53/54 Stude. In needs to fit in a space that measures 5 1/8" x 1 1/8". The only idea I can come up with is the trim piece that covered the paint line on the c pillar of the two-toned c/k's, but I need a photo of one with the dimensions of the script only. I could possibly go with a very shallow angle 'v' symbol, or a 'v-8' symbol that fits in the same dimensions. Any one have any other ideas? Did the Conestogas or sedans have any emblems/trim that would work. Block lettered 'Champion' or 'Stude' emblems would work too, but I really like the written script style better. Any suggestions, photos, welcome. Thanks, Junior.

How 'bout the '47 only, Champion only STUDE BAKER two-piece block letters used on the sheet metal below the hood edge? They mate together in a V-shape. Sorry, can't lay my hands on it right now...picture of one may be hard to find.

I did what Brian suggested on an old Norton Villiers bike tank. Couldn't find the real thng so I made a stencil from a photo. I could have bought a box of Alphapet cereal and painted'em silver.

Found a 47 champion front end photo on ebay....right idea, wrong size....too big. Thanks for the idea.

Office supply stores, and Hobby Lobby offer an assortment of stick on chrome block letters in various sizes. I have used them on various projects and for the "Studebaker" logo on my pedal cars. Check them out.

If the Lark "VIII" thing does not pan-out, I'll check out the hobby shop. Thanks for the idea. Junior

No I'm having a hard enough time sorting through all the variables of master/slave cylinders for the trans swap. This little side project is the radio delete plate that I'm beginning to obsess about...something I really should not be spending so much time on right now. Time to go do my tax-return...gulp. Junior
