O.K. I'll bite. What tells you some were bound for California?

The ones with the lower placed larger headlights. I can see five in Richard's picture. There are two in the enlarged picture of the CE and woodie wagon. The "normally" placed headlights on the larger trucks were too high and not bright enouigh for California. (California was messin' with things even in those days )
