    Fuel Economy

Given that the price of fuel around here is close to $1.30/litre ($4.91/USG), sign me up for a 40 mpg Studebaker!

I guess I could ask how he got 40 MPG at 100 MPH no less, but that would be rude since he's obviously a real Studebaker fan. Let's just assume a exaggeration based on a flawed memory. We've all heard of stories that got better and better over the years.

Hey John, it's all in good fun - I just seriously wish I could get 40 mpg with my Transtar (without coasting downhill)!

Because I went and installed a 454 Chev in my Studebaker, it still only gets 13 m.p.g. even when in free fall.

Hey, I recently posted in another thread that my son got 32 mpg going to the So.Ea. Zone meet running between 60-70 Mph in a 51 Champion. But he was on level ground and was drafting a GT Hawk.

I suspect he scored as well in Math as he did in English!

However his heart appears to be in the right place and he likes Studebakers so he'd fit right in around here. As they say - any publicity is good publicity!

Please tell me the state the 48 yr old Stude is traveling down the highways @ 100 mph getting 40 mpg! I'm staying off the roads in that state! I know its not Illinois as we don't have any roads you'd want to risk your life driving 100 mph on. First I thought it was Texas as we all know, everything is bigger and better in Texas. Maybe the driver took out the windshield and put a sail on the car to catch all the hot air from him bragging about the feat. Move over Prius, that old Stude is gonna pass you up!
