  • Save my Studes in Maryland (somewhat near York)

My two Studes are being stored in Brandywine MD about 2 hours from York, I just found out today that I am losing the storage. I am told 30 days but I would like to get them out ASAP as it is an unstable situation.

I am unable to keep these on my property and I am loathe to try to relocate them yet again.

I am hoping that it is good timing for bad things in that with York next weekend someone will be interested in them.

My preference is to be able to sell and have someone trailer/dolly away other options are possible but lower on my list.

Between my purchase and the moving and storage I am well underwater,my priority is to get them to someone who can do something with them so they don't get scrapped.

First is the 59 Lark...You can search my posts as I had a thread on it.

It is a Lark 6,auto,4 door, was free and running but needs brakes, have title, the reason I bought it and the best feature is that it is super solid for an East Coast car..floor pans are rock...bottom front quarters(repairable),a little rear dog legs and a little rear trunk seam rust...complete and original except it looks like the horn button has been ganked. Car was in a barn for 25 years before I got it and put it right back in one..or a series...

I also have 2 very nice used bumpers came with and couple manuals.

    I paid $850

The second is a 58 Commander NO TITLE 4 dr, eng stuck, interior intact but smelly, has repaired pans which I am sure need to be redone but the rest of the car seems to be solid and the paint is pretty decent, it has been off the road since 1975.

I paid $350 and hauled it from SWVA since...it was going to be crushed or so I was told...

I am open to offers and willing to be flexible but need to get it done whichever way.

I know guys trailer stuff to York to sell to pay for the trip, someone coming up 95 might be able to do that, it is easy pickup access about 10 miles off 95 or take her home with you !

If interested PM or post and we can talk.

Any other help in regard to getting these to safe place is welcome.

I do wish I was closer. That '58 is a dead ringer for mine. Same... everything.

      Matthew,

I know you have a lot of friends in the Stude World...Maybe someone who has the ability can pick it up and keep it for you or someone coming to York can bring it home...if you can arrange it, I will GIVE you the car...and in fact in your state the title is no issue. I would just need to get something solid worked out,but if that could be worked out it I would be very satisfied on my end.

Now THAT'S a heck of a deal. Anyone coming this far South from York with a car trailer? I'd help with gas money, do some trim repair work, whatever.

If someone hauls it to my yard I can store it next to N8's lawn ornament Studebaker until you get it.

Gee, what a great bunch Studebaker folks are. Lucky fellow Matthew a "Free Car" all the best with it.

It'd be cool if I could find a way to make this work. Like deja vu almost.. Same color, interior, etc as my current car. Only, mine was parked in 1974.

If Matthew's deal doesn't work out, I might be interested in the 58, possibly both, if no one else is.

Note to self: Build pole barn!
Tempting projects pop up with no warning and I got no storage!
Rust and the Zoning man would get me if I brought extra cars home!

I wanted to update this to let everyone know that I have something worked out on the Commander...I am still interested in selling the Lark tho I now have moving options, I think it would make someone an inexpensive driver or with the patina a nice rat rod...that ought to bring 'em out of the woodwork

Mauser...you and me both buddy, just take a word of advice and don't store them on someone elses property cause the barn will blow down or the fuedin' will a-start...

And you think I am joking...

It looks possible that the moving could be arranged before York so if interested in the Lark let me know as it won't be getting closer...

Thanks to everyone for the responses and help so far..I may have poor timing but I have good taste !
