  • JDP's 1964 Daytona

    Good Morning Forum Members,
Just wanted to pass on some information, the 1964
Daytona that JDP had on Ebay for a "minute", for a
customer, is now coming home to Arizona.[8D]

I think this was step 2 in the recovery process
and I appreciate all the help that you have given
me when I came out and announced my illness/addiction/
disease a couple of weeks ago.

I just called Wayne (the owner) telling him we'd found a home for the Daytona. The poor fellow was breaking down on the phone with the news. he bought the car to use in Shriner parades to raise money for kids, now he has less then a 50% chance of being here in a year. He's busting his butt to get all his affairs in order, nice guy, sad tale. Makes me realize that we should enjoy every day we are vertical and for me, Studebakers are a big part of that enjoyment.
That thought occurred to me yesterday as I was walking out to the garage with my Ipod clipped to my shirt. It was a 70 degree sunny day, one of my favorite songs was playing in my ear, and I was heading to a yard full of Studebakers that needed me, life is good. When I go, I hope they'll find me under a Studebaker with a wrench in my hand. now that's a addiction

That would be a good way to go JDP under a Stude with wrench in hand.
I would want to go that way.

            Congrats, Glen.

That Rose Mist is my favorite color on those Larks.

            A very attractive car [^]

My one choice I'll have to make is between heaven and hell. All the Studebaker in heaven would be perfect, needing no work, the ones in hell would be more what I'm accustomed to. Maybe I can fix up a few, flip them and pay to air condition the joint.

JDP, Nice sntiments. I'm grateful for every day...my dad died at 49 and I survived a career in the Air Force and I know of a lot of fine guys who did not.

                        Thank you!!!!
Totally excited[] the Daytona should be here in
                        3 weeks or less....depending on Peg's I didn't
even have to convince "the woman who needs to be
                        obeyed" very hard.

So it is a great day in the world of Studebaker, as
                        we know it!!!![8D]
