The seller, if not a SDC member, had to be shocked and pretty darn happy. Those prices are why I'm not surprised when actual installable items like a rare NOS clock gets listed much higher than most of us would pay. There always seems to be someone with the means out there for items they really, really want. I'm glad they stayed together, though.
Dave A. - I would sell a 35 year pin that is missing one pearl for $100 plus SHI.

I'm new to the forum and have come across some Studebaker items. Not sure if there is an interest in these or not. I have four service pins, 5, 20, 25 & 30. I also have an uncashed paycheck from Studebaker made out to my great great uncle for 12 cents dated 1932. Although I live in South Bend I am not really a collector of Studebaker items. Is there a market for these items? I'd really like them to go to someone who loves Studebakers.

I bought a 25 year pin in Cedar Rapids at the Natl. I was thinking of having the pin cut and a ring made out of the top part. Has anyone out there done this?

A lot of Studebaker employees did. I have samples of both the red ball and John M. Studebaker pins made into rings.

I have a nice J M Studebaker hexagonal pin of the 20 year variety originally converted on a ring which I wear to most Studebaker outings.

Donald, you will note in the first posting on this suject that Dick Quinn (Studebaker Wheel) mentions the 35 year pin brought $127.50 whilst the 40 year pin brought $100. The 5, 10, 15 & 20 year pins do not command big figures, the fact you have 6 pins that were awarded to the same recipient would make that attractive to a collector. I guess they could be worth $200 plus. You may wish to keep them but if selling as a group on Ebay you should state what you know about the recipient, Ori Palmer to support the collection.

i wouldn't sell them for 200. the five year pin i have is like a medal, more like you would get in the army. they are alot older than the ones above, but thank you for your thoughts.

I have a bracelet that has some red ball pins on it. I guess a worker had it made from all his pins.
