  • Restored To Glory with Studebaker Content

We have in our locality an educational facility called Delta College. They have been in existence since 1961 and do several things very well. One of the best things they do is produce TV programs specific to the area.

In the past they have focused on the Timber Industry, Local Industry's contribution the the Second World War and several other historical way points in the areas history. Their latest endeavor is called "Restored To Glory" and focuses on several local individuals that own and have restored antique vehicles. The show is progressing nicely and, in fact, includes a short entrance of a very nice yellow 50 Studebaker Convertible in absolutely pristine condition so Judy and I stay interested.

But the bomb shell hits when out of the screen appears several shots of Studebakers and a scene that starts by introducing a fellow named Dave Krueger from the Northeastern Michigan Studebaker Club. Krueger my mind says, Krueger it answers, Isn't that Sharon's last name, the gal the invited me to join that chapter. Danged if it ain't. In all candor, I would not have recognized either one since we have never met but what followed was one of the best produced segments that you could imagine on Dave and his Studebaker Wrecker and it's trip to South Bend a while back.

I won't go into all the details but it is great exposure for not only Studebaker but a neat couple that own several classic Studebakers.

I'm only writing this now as I have not seen anything from any of the Michigan folks on the show. The problem for most of the country is you can't get the show unless you got to the website and get a DVD by donating to the college. For the folks in Michigan that can get WDCQ, it will be broadcast 12/2 at 8 PM and 12/5 at 3PM. It is a great watch.

I guess it continues to prove "You meet the neatest folks in a Studebaker".
