Serial Number capital I for the # 1

I'm trying to get a title for my '54 Connestoga.
I have to send in a picture of the serial number plate.
I am concerned that they will think the #1 is a capital I.
I can't seem to find in the archives where this matter was discussed before.
Can someone point me to it ?

you might try searching vehicle ID or serial numbers etc. You may also see it in a parts book, or shop manual. Copy the pages and bring the 'explanation' with you so they don't screw it up.
