    Nice story/write-up Bob A.!
Maybe you could have July 2011 for your target for completion and your first big trip together. The SDC Atlantic Zone Meet and the AOAI International Meet are being held together in Gettysburg.

So we spent a little time communicating as I looked under the hood a bit.
They have meds for that too, Bob.

A second boat, the PO's to me paid for the first one. If Bob continues to keep us updated, we'll see if the car returns his affection, no question it deserves some love.

Bob, congratulations on getting the Avanti! I've always thought they were so neat and an enigma ever since as a kid I had that Monogram Avanti model with the artwork of the car at a ranch, on the box!

Our dealer never sold one or even had one in inventory; only one for a few days to show people ("Special Salon Showing" as the ad in our newspaper called it) and it was a turquoise one.

I'm most-fond of Avanti Turquoise, but I also like Avantis in white...I know far too many '60's Studes were white, but Avantis look very natural in white.

Great story Bob, I am dripping all over my keyboard, reminds me of the Book "Black Beauty"! What a rollercoaster ride for that poor Avanti.

Of course. But I was almost 18 before I found out that nobody else I knew could do it!

No dice, Tom. For the meds to work, the patient needs to want the cure

Don't worry, much to the delight of some (and the chagrin of a few) I will be doing updates.

I can understand that. Hopefully you will be going to Gettysburg in July with some other Studebaker.

I just got around to looking at the photos, and I like the wheels...sorta Hildebran-ish.
Also, the custom interior is neat too. Okay, maybe a bit more 1958-60 T-Bird than really necessary, but fun in a retro way.

You didn't read all my other posts. As mentioned, it was bought for resale- that was my plan all along. I can't afford to keep it for myself. Again, I hope to make it nicer, enjoy it a bit, and sell it for enough to at least break even.

Here's my original thread on it:
