Here are more shots of that low-mileage '63 Lark 6 Regal 4dr that became a fine "target of opportunity" for a longtime Hamilton Chapter member recently...

And here's one of another '63, this one a Daytona droptop, being elegantly rodded with a Corvette mill and lots of NOS bodywork by the same member...this thing's going to be sweeeet...

I was thinking, Chestnut interior in a green car... !!

Yep, current owner thinks that's a tad odd too. The paint on the car now is not original, but it was a green exterior originally, with that brownish mauve (surely meant to match Rose Mist?) inside. Just another example of Stude giving a customer exactly what he or she wanted, however curious a choice it might have been!

Curious? My 49 Kaiser is pale green (light pea soup aka Glass Green) with an Oakwood Brown dash and light brown seats--and that was a factory colour combo of the time. By the 60s, it is curious I agree.

Yep; that's correct. The 1963 Color and Upholstery book shows P6313 (Green Mist; the only green Studebaker had in 1963) as being available with Green interior standard or Chestnut interior at no extra cost. BP

BP--was Sea Spray Green P6326 no longer available, even though it was on the Ditzler charts?

By that time they must have had a lot of brown interior, cloth or vinyl, going begging. Even well before the after Jan 64 Canadian Challenger Special as previously discussed.

For what its worth, notice the original gas tank is black, not silver.

Nels, I went back to look at the pics again to make sure I get my restoration correct. There are 4-5 pictures showing the tank from all angles. Looking at these I am also positive it is the standard galvanized look from the factory. The rear view does look like there might be black paint or something wet but it's unpainted everywhere else as best I can tell.

I know all the nos tanks are galvanized but many of the low mileage tanks I've seen appear to be black. This one sure looks black to me. I see nothing that looks galvanized. Maybe the galvanized turned black or maybe they used both black and galvanized? Either one would be fine for a resto as far as I'm concerned. I just wanted to comment as I have noticed black tanks on original cars and thought it odd.

Green mist wasn't the only green available on a Lark. Sea Spray Green was offered as a spring color.

I know a fellow, Bill Brown, who has a drop-dead gorgeous, unrestored Sea Spray Green '63 Cruiser with Chestnut interior. The combination has grown on me <GGG>.
