I spoke with the gentlemen earlier today concerning the wagon and the asking price. I was told that he merely just threw a price out there and was more than willing to take offers. He works as a body repair man. He seemed very easy to talk to and really didn't have any idea where to start the bid. I went as far as I could before the boss (aka my wife) shot it down in quick fashion. At the time I was talking to him, I was looking at around $1000. I would like to challenge anyone to talk to him and see what he would be willing to take, I don't believe the price would have to be too high. I know "you can't save them all" but a rare bird like this deserves a second chance at life. His name is Floyd and his phone number is (541)-914-7098. Sometimes it just takes a call to find out a persons true character.

Not only that, but Buick also stole Skyhawk. My wife had one. And I had a Dodge Challenger which was actually Mitsubishi influenced. How about Toyota using Land Cruiser and Jeep with Commander.

It wasn't 'Mitsubishi influenced'; it WAS a Mitsubishi Galant through and through with Dodge (Challenger) and Plymouth (Sapporo) badging for the North American market.

You are correct Craig. I was being politically eloquent. IIRC the Dodge Challenger and Plymouth Sapporo were built in a joint venture plant in Illinois. Normal IL? Am I correct?

I believe that was years later, in the 1990's they were assembled in Illinois. I remember the Eclipse, Laser and Talon, but not a Challenger in that lineup. The Challenger you had was probably anywhere between 1978-'83, I would suspect, and I do know those ones were made in Japan.

Yep, a lot of old Studebaker names were revived after they went out of the car business. Many had a nice "ring" to them--although it didn't help them sell cars. Still prefer "names" for cars instead of dumb numbers and /or letters for models--I'm just "old-fashioned" I guess.
