I attended an auction today which had, among many other non-related items a Studebaker sign. 10 by 50, framed, silk screened on glass were the wheel logos, one at each end, and between them the word "WELCOME" in relief behind the glass, gold leafed. I had made up my mind what I wanted to pay, it started at twice that and doubled that figure. I did not get a picture, forgot my camera. So goes it.

It brought $1,000. I wanted it for $250, for $1,000 I'd rather buy car parts. It was purchase by the owner of a '29, he bought it when he and it were both 17. He said he worked on it till he got married, and it's set since then, 56 years.Comment
