  • 9/9/'63 My Cruiser left the line in South Bend!

    47 years old today!
Been working on the old girl quite a bit the last few days. She's running much better and I believe the reliability is better. She drives more like a car!
Next projects will be the rear brakes (Leaky wheel cylinder) and axle seals, also fixing the power steering leaks.

    She's coming along nicely.

That is an early 1964 model. Does the body tag reflect that?

Body tag 871 matches the build sheet, as does the serial number. Order written 9/3/63, final assembly 9/9/63, shipped 9/11/63.
Anyone know what the line '14 845 BRC' means? It's the one line on the build sheet I don't understand...

            Charles,

"BRC" is the code for brown cloth upholstery.

Per Fred Fox's 2/93 article in TW on '64's, line 14 is always for the upholstery code. 8=Daytona and Cruiser cloth, 4= Brown, and 5=Cruiser, and 'BRC' also is 'brown cloth'.

On behalf of my car, thank you!

The front seats are wearing thin, anyone know where I can get some brown cloth to match, or NOS seat covers?
