A beautiful truck to be sure, but the period photo on the cover of the Dec. '83 TW shows the last truck on the line as being a Diesel.Bill Pressler

Maybe it is the last "Gas" powered truck off the line??? Regardless, wouldn't this be a great "fifth wheel" RV puller for someone retired with no need to hurry anywhere? (dreaming again!)John Clary

Makes me wonder where it was assembled. South Bend plants 1 & 2 (main) or plant 3 & 4 (Chippewa) which was the truck only line by that time. Where ever it was built, man that's a nice truck! That's what a semi was supposed to look like, A TRUCK. Since this past winter riding in the "Sasco semi" I have taken a likeing to semi tractors. Can't afford one, no place to put it, and defionately can't fill the gas tank, but I like them!

The last truck was assembled in South Bend on Dec. 27, 1963. I'm thinking that only Champs were built at "South Bend Main", and that other trucks were built at Chippewa. Can anybody confirm?Bill Pressler

Confirming that only "GREEN" 6X6 trucks
were being built at Chippewa in 1965, because I was helping build them along with 600+ former Studebaker employees.
