Does anyone know a good resource for instructions on installing a headliner in a Lark? When I bought my car the headliner was already out. I got all the bows and other pieces (I think), but as you know it's much easier to reinstall something after you've had the benefit of removing the old one. Any help would would be appreciated, especially information with pictures and how the metal pieces that I have are used. I'm starting from scratch, having never worked on an old style headliner before. Thanks!

Ray-Lin's Technical pages has a link to windlace and headliner installation in a Coupe. Good information that could apply to most Studebakers.

If it's vinyl, do it on a hot day-it'll really stretch out. I did the one in my '64, the re-stretched it a few days later when it got warmer (before re-installing the glass), and the wrinkles really came out. Also an old putty knife with rounded off corners (by grinder) works good for tucking the material where needed.

That's a great resource, I'd agree, it goes a long way toward explaining how things fit together. My headliner wasn't in the car when I bought it, so assembly wasn't quite so obvious.'53 Commander

Last month I printed Raylin's web pages and installed the headliner in my Packard Hawk. I was nervous about doing it, but once we started it went pretty smooth. Some of the clips in the side metal weren't holding too well, so I used some self tap screws to tighten it up. I didn't want to hear any rattles. It looks pretty good and his instructions were great. Need at least 2 people. 3 are even better.Larry Y
