  • Are people just not aware?

This car has been on ebay on and off for months - the seller keep pricing it as if it is primo, but its not. First they set a high buy it now, or they start it low with a high reserve.

Then I found this - the same car, priced $2,250 under the ebay listing.

I know that they are betting on someone with more money than sense gets smitten very easily, but are these folks hoping this wouldn't get discovered?

I must say the fellow does a beautiful job on the sales page. Takes a month of Sundays for my dial-up to load it though.

Yes, I think people just aren't aware. For a Chevy or Ford of the same vintage, the price would be even higher in worse condition. The car does show well though, doesn't it? It could be that he's using it for exposure and showroom bait.

      Funny story~

I knew what car you were talking about before I clicked on either link!!!!

We've gone 'round and 'round about this car here a time or five.

      My guess--
some poor soul is paying this dealer a ton of $$$$ for all these ads
and it's all for nothing 'cuz he still owns the car!!!

How sad. I had hoped it was a case that an unscrupulous flipper had gotten an old lady's car from an estate and is trying to make a killing on some poor ignorant dupe. What your describing sounds much worse. Twice as worse, two greedy people trying to find a sucker.

If I had about $6500 or so spare, a couple of new 57 fenders handy with new fender bolts, a bunch of 1957 NOS chrome and stainless trim not currently being used and already paid for, and a V8 1957 parts car lying around, I'd likely make an offer on that car. Well, I have 3 of the 4 of. To me, it would be worth about that. Maybe not to people used to non-coastal rust-free southwestern cars. Hmm, well it is all the way over in Utah which makes it in the range of a lottery prize winning ticket before I'd buy. Okay, that makes 3 out of 5. Me, I'm waiting for the time it gets listed with no reserve....
