  • Land Speed Record by a Studebaker man

Alright here is a little story i thought some of you might enjoy.
I am fat not afraid to say it 6'1"+ 300 lbs = fat. So this spring my wife and i started walking and working out 4 to 5 times a week. When the weather is not so nice i am a member of a local car club, http://www.timeturners.org/, and we have a small gym in our building. Last night the weather wasnt so good so the the wife and i went to the "gym". When we got there i start on the treadmill while she rode the excercise bike. after 15 minutes we switched. So i am riding along on the stationary excercise bike when i decide to go for the "Stationary Excercise Bike Land Speed Record." I gradually pick up speed little by little until i decide i am rolling along fast enough to start my push for the record. so i really dig in. Now i am pedaling like a mad man the wind from the big fan wheel was intense the walls were standing still and my wife was laughing at me (nothing new) so i new i was creeping up on the record when disater struck. the chain broke right as i was begining a full stoke. it wrapped around the the fan and sprocket and stopped insantly sending me and the bike in a flash to the concrete floor. while laying on the floor in the fetal postion trying to decide how i had lived though such an ordeal. i realized 6'1" + 300lbs= not built for speed or endurance. But my butt sure fits my hawks bucket seat well.
So does anyone work on excercise bike in this form???????

Almost as dangerous as one of those Gazelle exercise thingies.
We have had several dog, cat, and husband 'incidents'[B)]...
And that's not counting the time I actually got on it[:0]...
    (Then it got really dangerous)

Erin. Your no Andy Granatelli for speed records. But your bod may resemble him. Walk the Malls. It's safer and healthier. My stationary bike was donated for lack of use and I needed the garage space to park the Avanti II. [8D] Jerry
