  • Dealer Showroom Albums

I'm watching these two showroom albums and wonder if they're around the mark price wise - no I haven't yet made a bid the 1955 seller says "only to the US" so I emailed them to check as others sell to me.
The 1953 album seems to have lost it's binding, but would still be a nice item.

    1953 is item #130097055154
    1955 is item #270107081758

I have the 55 Inside Facts. It is wonderful with lots of pull outs and pictures. I paid $90.00 for it in 1983!!!

Frank Drumheller (studelark) is the expert on these books. He has every one except the 1939 issue. I will email him and ask him to respond.

The 53 item is offered by Asa Hall's widow. Asa had one of the best collections of Studebaker literature. She auctioned the 53 Inside Facts book a while back. There were only about 5 copies made and I think it went for about $1,000.00 I think the 53 item she is selling is different from the Inside Facts books.

Thanks Leonard, I look forward to reading his comments. I wonder whether it'd be possible to put another comb binding on the '53 book, surely a printer/bindery could do it.

Hello John and Leonard; Two very intereesting items. Leonard is correct on the 1953 item. It is not the salesman's INSIDE FACTS manual which illustrates the various models in splendid color, includes specifications and options. This item was given to the dealer principal in 1953 in lieu of the INSIDE FACTS manual (long story on this fact). This item is really a series of charts on very heavy cardboard that sat on a pyramid holder that a salesman could use as he made a presentation to a prospective customer. It is a very large item, approximately three times the size in area as the INSIDE FACTS manual. This item was also produced for the 1954 model, one of which I sold at Omaha for $300. It was in very good condition but the holder was not included. This '53 item would be desirable.

The 1955 item for sale is the nicest, and very scarce, of the series of INSIDE FACTS salesman's manauls. This is the only postwar manual that was fitted with a zippered leather case. I have seen these manuals for sale without the case and only two with the case (I have one of those). The other one had a broken zipper. These items are wonderfully illustrated, but they usually bring lots of $$. Leonard was very fortunate he purchased his for less than $100. The one now for sale appears to be above average condition (if the zipper works).

Thanks Frank, I'll make a bid of 275 and see how that goes. As to the '55, unless the seller is willing to post it here the only way to get one is if someone on the forum had one or could take delivery of it and then post it to me.

Well, the 1953 item went for 386.00 I had a maximum bid of 350:00. The other one is currently at 308:00 with 5 days to go, but will sell for a lot more I'm sure.

There will be other opportunities to obtain these I'm sure.
