    I think those are just new springs- maybe for replacement. The spring reinforcements I have seen are zig zag heavy round spring material (kind of hard to describe). Maybe this picture of some I sold a couple years ago will help. BTW, the buyer was pretty odd, acknowledged receipt, gave me good feedback then claimed it was a fraudulent sale and PayPal backed out the proceeds. I did get the money back, all $9 or $10.

      The springs Paul describes are correct reinforcements for the Lark types.
      I do believe the augmenting springs for the earlier models were exactly as pictured, coils wrapped in burlap.

        I bought a set of those for my '48 Land Cruiser. Those are helper springs to put in the seat for heavy people. I put them between the regular springs on the drivers side.
