Deepnhock, the intake looks different then the one I have. I would attatch a couple of pictures of it but I really don't know how to insert them.

Good job posting pic's!
There are two different manifolds, and yours is the 'sideways mount' style. It looks to be in decent shape, and with some carb rebuilding. could be quite nice.
(BTW.. Copper tubing is bad ju-ju, and illegal in most states)...

There may have been a few 3 Twos Manifolds for Stude. V8's, and there were Dual Quads that never really worked, but never 4 or 6 Twos!
Even an R3/R4 304.5 c.i.d. Stude. V8 could NOT handle THAT much Fuel.StudeRich

No, it's not really practical or productive, but when has that stopped us before?

Rich, you forgot about Drag Star manifolds with 6 Two's!
They made some specifically for Stude V8's. May not have been more effective, but I have seen and heard it when running.
Next time your here, I'll show it to you.

I had the Stu-V 2x2 intake with the side mounted WWs on the Kart Hauler. The throttle linkage was "creative" to say the least...

Do you have some other pictures of that DragStar intake manifold that you might be willing to share?
I have an impropmtu collection of intake styles for Studebakers and do not have any pic's of a DragStar.

I've got a drag star manifold for an Olds that has the same intake spacing and angle as a Stude. I just had to modify the bolt holes for mounting. Its mocked up with 6 deuces right now. Waiting for the top to get chopped on the 56 wagon first.
The standard Olds manifolds won't work on the Stude due to the way the flange is set up, but the drag star plenum is raised up and allows for the bolts holes to be redrilled. Its pretty awesome looking, so who cares if it works right ! ! Its not a daily driver anymore. Just for bombing around to the local Rat Rod shows. Good fun. Can't wait to have it back on the road. Goes to the fab shop next week... finally. This one's been on the back burner for years.sals54

Some STU-V manifolds had larger ports for later engines; I have one of them under a workbench. A local kid was told it was for a 289 and he bought it for his Ford. OOOPS!!! He found someone who knew what it was and sent him to me. I had no use for it (still don't) but bought it anyway to help him feed his new son.
StudeRich, yeah there were 6x2 manifolds for Studes; unfortunately, I've no pix of one I sold many, many years ago. Don't even remember who made it. now. But, they do exist.Last edited by Xcalibur; 08-20-2015, 09:53 PM.
